The former deputy of Al-Qaida has been selected to lead the terrorist network, the Voice of America News reports.
Egyptian-born Ayman al-Zawahri, the long-time strategist and operational leader of Al-Qaida, is the new leader, according to an announcement posted by the group on an Islamist website.
