The Russian navy has commissioned the lead ship in a new class of intelligence-collection vessels, reports the Moscow Times.
The Yuri Ivanov formally entered service on Sunday during a large naval parade attended by President Vladimir Putin in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea.
The ship has been specifically outfitted to monitor U.S. missile defense systems, reported the Barents Observer.
