A South Korean teenager who apparently joined the Islamic State in January is believed dead, says a government official cited by the Yonhap news agency.
The 18-year-old male, identified by his surname, Kim, disappeared in the southern Turkish town of Kilis in January.
Intelligence officials said he joined ISIS.
"We assume he is dead," Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam said Tuesday during a meeting of the legislative Foreign Affairs committee.
