Would-Be Bombers Killed By Their Device

June 06 2012

Yemeni officials say five Al-Qaida militants have been killed when their car bomb detonated prematurely, reports Agence France-Presse.

The explosion took place Tuesday in the city of Shaqra in Abyan province, said the officials.

The Yemeni army launched an offensive in mid-May aimed at retaking control of the capital Zinjibar and other cities that had been captured by Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula over the last year.
