Women Still Banned From Close-Combat Role

The U.K. Ministry of Defense, after a review on the possible role of females in close-combat positions in the armed forces, will retain the current ban, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
Having men and women teams in close-combat roles could have "far reaching and grave consequences," says the review.
While some women would be able to meet the required standards, the potential negative impact of having men and women in small teams could be significant, the review notes.
