The Wisconsin Army National Guard is losing several engineer units as part of defense budget cuts, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The 2016 defense budget will see the totals in the Army National Guard drop from 350,000 to 342,000 personnel over the course of the fiscal year.
In Wisconsin, that means 36 full-time posts are expected to be lost, as well as up to 274 part-time positions by 2017.
