More than 7,000 Russian troops in the Western Military District are kicking off a week of combat and survival training, reports Interfax-AVN.
The soldiers will organize base comps, perform reconnaissance and search operations and repel simulated attacks, said a district spokesman.
Other aspects of the training cover setting up forest shelters, building fires, finding directions through stellar orientation and acquiring and preparing food in the wild.
