The Australian and Indian navies are in the midst of a week of training off the west coast of Australia, reports the Australian Dept. of Defense.
Exercise Australia India (AUSINDEX) is a bilateral maritime exercise designed to improve interoperability and cooperation between the two navies.
The first AUSINDEX was held in 2015 in the Bay of Bengal; this year's drill is the first held in Australian waters, noted the Diplomat (Tokyo).
