The Pentagon has been deploying a device to Afghanistan that is able to shoot a blade of water capable of penetrating steel to disable improvised explosive devices (IEDs), reports the Sandia National Laboratories, which developed the device.
Albuquerque, N.M.-based Sandia licensed the technology to TEAM Technologies, also of Albuquerque, which shipped 3,000 water disruptors to Afghanistan this summer.
