The United States is selling missile defense systems to allies in the Middle East in an effort to deter attacks by Iran, according to administration officials cited by the Times of London.
Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have each bought two Patriot anti-missile systems from the U.S.
The sales may also serve to discourage Israel from launching a pre-emptive strike on Iran, analysts said.
