Warship, Chinese Vessels Locked In Standoff In S. China Sea

A Philippine warship is involved in a standoff with several Chinese vessels in the South China Sea, reports UPI.
On Tuesday, the BRP Gregorio del Pilar encountered a dozen Chinese fishing vessels in disputed waters off the Spratly Islands, said Foreign Affairs Dept. officials.
The Philippine ship, transferred last year from the U.S., is a former Coast Guard cutter.
Nearby Chinese surveillance ships reportedly placed themselves between the fishing boats and the warship, said...
