Clashes between rival ethnic groups at a university in the southern Kyrgyz town of Jalalabad left at least two people dead and 62 others injured, the New York Times reports.
On Wednesday, ethnic Kyrgyz tried to seize a building of the People's Friendship University that was defended by the region's ethnic Uzbek minority.
The interim government in Bishkek declared a military curfew in Jalalabad and sent army and border patrol troops to the city.
