Vikramaditya Carrier Ready For Sea Trials

June 08 2012

India

A Russian-built aircraft carrier overhauled for service in India is scheduled to begin sea trials on Friday, reports the Hindu.

The testing of Vikramaditya was delayed two weeks due to bad weather, Russian shipbuilding officials said.

The postponement should not affect the delivery date in December, according to the Sevmash shipyard, which has been refurbishing the carrier.

The trials in the White Sea are scheduled to last for 120 days, reported the Voice of Russia.
