USS Memphis Sub Commander Loses Job

The commander of the submarine USS Memphis (SSN-691) has been relieved of duty, reports The Day (Conn.).
Cmdr. Charles Maher was relieved by Capt. William Merz, the head of Submarine Development Squadron 12 in Groton, Conn., on Nov. 18, due to what was called a loss of confidence in Maher's ability to command, according to a Navy statement.
The Navy is investigating 10 crewmembers from the sub on suspicion of tampering with the answer keys used in the ship's training exams. ...
