USS George Washington Becomes 1st Carrier With All Super Hornets

Carrier Air Wing 5, assigned to the USS George Washington (CVN-73), has become the first Navy unit to be completely equipped with F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighters, reports the Navy NewsStand.

Strike Fighter Squadron 195 (VFA-195), the Dambusters, returned to the aircraft carrier on June 17 after completing the transition from the F/A-18C Hornet to the F/A-18E Super Hornet.

The George Washington is now equipped with four Super Hornet squadrons totaling 44 aircraft.
