The U.S. Air Force has come up with a plan to train up the thousands of new maintainers it has recruited over the last year to address a major shortfall, reports the Air Force Times.
The service is trying to get the new personnel seasoned so that they can keep up with veteran maintainers once they are deployed.
The strategy includes pulling old fighters out of the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., to help new maintainers gain experience.
