US$4.7 Billion Deal Includes Patrol Aircraft, Anti-Aircraft Guns

India's top procurement body has approved the purchase of US$4.74 billion worth of defense equipment, reports the Express Tribune (Pakistan).

On Tuesday, the Defense Acquisition Council, which is headed by the defense minister, cleared an order for 428 L-70 and ZU-23 air defense guns, said a Defense Ministry spokesman.

The guns will be manufactured in India as part of an effort to expand the domestic defense industry, said the spokesman.
