U.S. Urges Further Probe Of War Abuse Allegations

The U.S. government has called on Sri Lanka to investigate allegations of war crimes in the final months of the war with the Tamil Tigers, Agence France-Presse reports.
A recent U.S. State Dept. report claimed that both government troops and the Tamil Tigers had committed atrocities from January 2009 up to the defeat of the rebsls in May.
"Ultimately, as appropriate, [they should] bring to justice those who are found guilty," said a State Dept. spokesman.
