U.S., Turkey Agree To Train Syrian Opposition Fighters; Details Still Pending

The U.S. and Turkey expect to finalize a memorandum of understanding this month to help train and equip Syrian opposition forces, reports the Anadolu News Agency (Turkey).

The proposed program would begin in March and last for three years. The aim is to have 15,000 opposition fighters trained in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, according to a U.S. State Dept. spokeswoman cited by Today's Zaman (Istanbul).
