The U.S. has nearly doubled its small military presence in Taiwan over the last year, reports the Voice of America News.
From Dec. 31, 2020, to Sept. 30, 2021, the number of U.S. troops in Taiwan increased from 20 to 39, according to official figures.
The latest data from the Pentagon's Defense Manpower Data Center indicates that 29 Marines, two soldiers, three sailors and five airmen are deployed in Taiwan.
