U.S. State Dept. Greenlights Sale Of Super Tucanos; Congressional Approval Not Assured

The U.S. State Dept. has approved the potential sale of A-29 Super Tucano attack aircraft to Nigeria, reports the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
The proposed US$593 million deal covers 12 aircraft and weapons. It also includes all associated training, spare parts, aviation and ground support equipment, and hangar, facilities and infrastructure, according to a DSCA release on Aug. 3.
If the sale goes forward, the aircraft would be used to support Nigerian military...
