U.S. Reopens Embassy After 3 Decades

The U.S. has reopened its embassy in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar).
The reopening of the embassy was announced on Wednesday in a social media post by U.S. Ambassador to Somalia Donald Yamamoto.
The embassy in Mogadishu was closed in 1991 when President Siad Barre was overthrown and the country descended into civil war.
