U.S. To Relax Some Sanctions

The Obama administration says Washington will begin easing financial, foreign aid and travel sanctions on Burma (Myanmar) in recognition of recent elections in that country, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The administration will also send an ambassador to Burma for the first time since 1988, said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday.
