The Canadian Dept. of National Defense is contemplating the purchase of several helicopters not used for the cancelled U.S. presidential helicopter program, reports the Ottawa Citizen.
Preliminary discussions are reportedly underway for the US101 helicopters.
Ottawa could use the aircraft for parts to support its CH-149 Cormorant search-and-rescue helicopters, which have been grounded several times due to a lack of spare parts, according to defense officials.
