The Iranian military says it warned off a U.S. military reconnaissance plane that approached its naval exercises on Monday in the Strait of Hormuz, the semi-official Fars News Agency (Iran) reports.
Iranian army Maj. Gen. Ataollah Salehi said that air defense units gave the aircraft a "prompt warning."
His remarks came Tuesday on the seventh day of an eight-day exercise, as the military test-fired two surface-to-sea missiles in the Gulf of Oman, Reuters reported.
