U.S. Offers Drones, Other Equipment To African Union Mission

The U.S. has offered a major military equipment package, including drones, to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), reports the Daily Monitor (Kampala, Uganda).
The offer, worth about US$45 million, includes four Raven unmanned aerial vehicles, surveillance systems, body armor, night-vision equipment, generators as well as communications and heavy construction equipment, according to the New York Times.
