The crew of the USS San Jacinto has thwarted two pirate attacks in the past week in the Gulf of Aden, the Navy Times reports.
A boarding team from the Norfolk, Va.-based cruiser seized nine pirates on a skiff on Tuesday morning, Navy officials said.
The pirates were tracked by the ship's Seahawk helicopter after they attacked the Maltese-flagged Avenue Beauty 90 miles north of Somalia, said U.S. officials.
