U.S. Navy Awards Castelion First Blackbeard Hypersonic Missile Order

On June 16, 2026, Castelion announced it has received a US$23.4 million purchase from the U.S. Navy for the production and delivery of 50 Blackbeard early operational capability pre-production prototype missiles and 50 associated shipping and storage containers. Castelion announced that work under the contract is expected to be completed in 2027.

Blackbeard is Castelion’s long-range hypersonic strike weapon, designed for mass production. The weapon system leverages vertically integrated propulsion and guidance subsystems to achieve high performance at a lower cost compared to other hypersonic systems.
