U.S. Marines have begun the bilateral African Lion drills with Morocco, reports the U.S. Africa Command.
About 1,200 Americans are taking part in the annual exercise at various Moroccan sites.
Some 200 Marines from 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, were scheduled to work with Moroccan troops on small-arms weapon training, infantry tactics, tank operations, combat engineering, artillery and light armored reconnaissance missions.
