U.S. Intel Unit Set To Leave Seoul

A U.S. Army intelligence unit is set to move this week from South Korea's capital in Seoul, reports the Yonhap news agency.

The 532nd Military Intelligence Battalion in the 8th U.S. Army is scheduled to begin moving to Camp Humphreys, about 31 miles (50 km) south of Seoul, on Dec. 9, according to U.S. Forces Korea officials.

The move is part of a major program to move most U.S. troops south of the South Korean capital.

The transfer is scheduled to be concluded by 2010.
