Marines from Indonesia and the United States have just started a joint exercise in Karangtekok on East Java, reports the Antara News, Indonesia's national news agency.
The drills involve some 600 U.S. Marines and 630 Indonesian troops, according to Indonesian officials.
The training is focused on infantry skills, amphibious surveillance, urban operations, jungle survival and amphibious landings.
