U.S. F-16, Flying Out Of Spangdahlem AFB, Crashes; Pilot Ejects Safely

A U.S. F-16 fighter jet has crashed in southern Germany, said service officials cited by the Stars and Stripes.

The aircraft, based at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, went down Tuesday morning near the village of Engelmannsreuth in Bavaria, said officials.

The pilot was able to eject and suffered minor injuries, reported local media.

The F-16 apparently suffered from engine failure, said authorities cited by the Daily Mail (U.K.).
