The top American military commander in South Korea says that the U.S. Eighth Army in that nation will be transformed from an army service component to a field army able to control U.S. and coalition corps units in combat, reports the Yonhap News Agency (Seoul).
U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) is also slated to become U.S. Korea Command (KORCOM) this year, will command U.S. troops in the region and provide forces to the South Korean military as it moves toward taking wartime...
