An apparent U.S. drone strike has killed a dozen Taliban fighters in the southern Afghan province of Nangarhar, says a provincial official cited by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
Three Afghans and nine foreigners were killed on Saturday in Khogyani district, said a spokesman for the governor of province. The reference to foreigners normally means Pakistanis.
The Taliban's shadow governor for the district was among those killed, said the spokesman.
