U.S. Cruiser In Constanta As Part Of Missile Shield

The U.S. Navy cruiser Monterey has anchored in the Romanian port of Constanta on the Black Sea, reports Romania's Actmedia news agency.
The ship, which arrived Monday, is slated to remain at the port until Thursday, U.S. Embassy officials said.
The Monterey is equipped with the Aegis air defense system, part of the proposed European missile shield, said embassy officials.
Romania has agreed to host interceptors for the project.
