U.S. Central Command Beefs Up Mine Countermeasures Assets

Four U.S. Navy minehunting ships are newly arrived in Bahrain, reports the Navy NewsStand.
The ships, which arrived Saturday, will support regional 5th Fleet operations.
According to a service statement, the Avenger-class mine warfare vessels were transported from San Diego aboard the M/V Tern in response to a request from the U.S. Central Command.
The Sentry, Devastator, Pioneer and Warrior are slated for a seven-month deployment with rotational crews.
