Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov hosted talks in Astana this week with Marine Gen. James Mattis, the head of the U.S. Central Command, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
Items on the agenda included bilateral and multilateral cooperation on Afghanistan as well as training Kazakh personnel in the U.S., according to the Kazakh Defense Ministry.
More than 370 Kazakh servicemen have attended U.S. military education institutes to study 30 subjects, the ministry said.
