U.S. Authorized To Transfer Jointly Developed Missiles

The Japanese government says it will allow the U.S. to transfer missiles to other countries that were jointly developed with Japan, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun.

Officials in Tokyo said they are still establishing the criteria that would allow Washington to deploy SM-3 Block IIA missiles in Europe and other parts of the world.

The transfer decision reflects Japan's resolve to deepen its alliance with the U.S., according to unnamed government sources.
