U.S. Army Expands Counter-Drone Defense with VAMPIRE System

On June 10, 2026, L3Harris announced the U.S. Army selected it to provide VAMPIRE counter-drone systems under a contract valued at up to US$106 million.

To meet increasing demand from the United States and allied nations, L3Harris expanded production and established a high-volume manufacturing line in Huntsville, Alabama.

VAMPIRE is a self-contained counter-unmanned system designed to detect, track, and engage drone threats. The system combines advanced reconnaissance capabilities with precision-strike technology to provide effective and affordable defense against unmanned systems.
