U.S. Airstrike Killed 15 Civilians, Says Human-Rights Group

A U.S. airstrike in western Afghanistan killed 15 civilians, according to an Afghan human-rights organization cited by the Stars and Stripes.
The Jan. 8 attack in Herat killed the head of the Rasoul Group, an insurgent group that split from the Taliban in 2015.
Fifteen civilians were killed, including three women and three children, said a report released on Tuesday by Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission.
