Upper House OKs Joint Russian-Abkhazian Armed Force

The upper house of the Russian Parliament, the Federation Council, has ratified an agreement on a combined armed force with Abkhazia, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
The accord was first signed in Moscow on Nov. 21, 2015. The upper house's ratification came on Wednesday.
The lower house, the Duma, ratified the agreement on Nov. 2.
The combined force would respond to armed aggression and other threats to either Russia or Abkhazia, a breakaway Georgian republic.
