Upgrading Avionics On Border Guard Helicopters Will Extend Service Lives Up To 15 Years

Finnish defense firm Patria is going to modernize the avionics on two border guard helicopters.
The projected work involves the integration of new avionics and mission systems; patient stretchers; infrared camera; and video data link on two Bell 412EP helicopters, said a Patria release last week.
Once upgraded, both aircraft will be compatible with night-vision-goggles. Their service lives will also be extended by 10 to 15 years, the company said.
