Upgrades On The Way For Air Force Electronic Attack Pods

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman a $52.8 million contract to upgrade the service's electronic attack pods, reports the defense firm.
The 27-month engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) contract will produce a modernized ALQ-131 electronic attack pod that is fully capable of operating with A-10, C-130, F-15 and F-16 aircraft.
The deal has a potential value of $480 million, including EMD, low-rate initial production and five production options.
