Upgrades To F-15 Seen Extending Service Life

The U.S. Air Force plans major upgrades for its fleet of F-15C and F-15E fighters to fill the gap caused by the long-delayed F-35 program, reports the Air Force Times.
The F-15 fleet has an average age of over 28 years, and a mission-capable rate of only 69 percent in fiscal 2012, according to the service.
