Upgraded Frigate Heads To Med To Relieve Sister Ship On Reassurance Mission

The Canadian navy has deployed its most modern frigate to the Mediterranean Sea to join NATO operations intended to provide reassurance to allies after Russian aggression in Ukraine, reports the Globe and Mail (Toronto).

HMCS Fredericton departed Halifax on Tuesday and will replace sister ship HMCS Toronto.

The Toronto has been in the area since August. The Fredericton is expected to spend a similar six-month period in the region after the ships meet up in Spain.
