Unreleased DoD Report Concludes Allies Accidentally Hit In Somalia By Drone Strike

A Pentagon investigation, which has not been made public, has concluded that a U.S. drone strike in September that targeted Al-Shabaab militants in Somalia accidentally hit members of an allied regional force, reports the Washington Post.
On Sept. 28, security forces from the Puntland semi-autonomous region, accompanied by U.S. military advisers, were sent to investigate a "suspicious group" in the Galkayo region believed to be Al-Shabaab fighters.
