A vertical takeoff Fire Scout, the Navy's developmental unmanned helicopter, took part in its first drug interdiction late last week in the eastern Pacific Ocean, reports the Navy NewsStand.
The MQ-8B Fire Scout was launched from the frigate McInerney (FFG-8) for a routine test flight, when it acquired a suspected narcotics "go-fast" boat on radar, said the Navy.
