The new president of Gambia says his predecessor made off with millions of dollars before flying into exile in Equatorial Guinea, reports Deutsche Welle.
Former President Yahya Jammeh reportedly plundered state funds and then fled, reports the Washington Post.
Jammeh, who had been in power since a 1994 coup, refused to give up power after losing elections in December. He initially conceded and then changed his mind.
