The Colombian government has freed 16 FARC prisoners as a goodwill gesture, reports Deutsche Welle.
The rebels, nine men and seven women, were the first from a group of 30 to be pardoned. The gesture to reciprocate for a unilateral ceasefire declared six months previously by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), said the office of the government's high commissioner for peace, reported AFP.
