A strategic review of the United Nation’s peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) has recommended winding down the mission in three years at the minimum, reports Africa Review. The report, released on Nov. 6, recommends a progressive withdrawal taking a minimum of three years to ensure a responsible transition should the reforms enacted by new authorities remain on track and the best-case scenario emerge.
